I still remember the day when I got my first phone – the mighty Nokia 1100. The possibility to call people from anywhere was mind-blowing at that time. Millennials & Centennials reading this kindly excuse 🙂 yes there was such an era and I’m happy that I was part of it 🙂 Technology has evolved so much since then!
PS – This is not a preachy/how-to/why-not kind of a post on technology instead this will be a feel-good post on my happy encounter with technology and how I evolved as a person with the help of technology!
Being born in the mid 80’s I’ve literally been a part of this Techo-evolution. I’ve witnessed the transition, I’ve seen the technology evolve, new products emerge and the old disappear! I’ve seen it all and I believe the best is yet to come 🙂
This picture here sums it up all – this was our gadget world then 🙂

The Transition…
But the transition was seamless. As the need grew, inventions eased our lives and the techno-evolution bloomed beautifully! Today even my grandma who is a baby boomer puts her smart phone to full use! She’s the most active “Good-Morning-Good-Night” member of our family whatsapp group 🙂 hello.. what could be more fun than this 🙂
When I look back, I feel these inventions have changed our lives for good. Some of them are pure basic enhancements that these smart devices has offered us. For instance, smart phones have reduced the need for us to carry multiple gadgets like camera, calculator, ruler, tape, recorder, radio/music player, TV and what not! Less luggage more comfort 🙂
Today smart watches are more than time telling machines. They work as your mobile, takes pictures, answers call and plays music. And those fitness bands – Oh-my-God! They are like God-sent! They monitor your health and in turn lets you monitor your happiness 🙂
Speaking of happiness, last night I happened to watch the new release Black Mirror – Bandersnatch from Netflix through my smart TV.

The whole idea of interactive movie/gaming experience just blew my mind! I’m sure this would open up a plethora of possibilities for the future art and entertainment industry! I think it’s time to go beyond OK Google 😉
Few smart products I may try this year for my smart home would be,
1) Smart home security system (a combination of smart camera, sensors, smart locks, door bells etc.,)
2) Smart home-lighting system (wi-fi lights, smart switches and plugs)

And if you are wondering where to get all these products – Don’t worry 🙂 all of these are available in India with a good pricing and quality. Just head over to Flipkart’s smart home automation store and it is the one stop shop for all your automation technology needs!
Why not contribute to #SmartHomeRevolution 🙂 use smart home devices, save time and be happy 🙂 Let’s #GetFitWithFlipkart 🙂
